Coastal Energy and Waterfront Infrastructure: Land, Sea and Air as One Picture
One Site. Three Domains. Three Vendors Who Don’t Talk.
Land, sea, and air are procured separately, staffed separately, and alarmed separately. An adversary crosses all three in a single evolution. NXTGuard operates them as one picture.

Who This Is For
The Security Manager at a coastal generating station, fuel or LNG terminal, desalination plant, or water-treatment intake — and the Plant Manager who owns availability on the same asset.
Your consequence profile is different from a campus or a venue. You do not operate many replaceable sites; you operate one high-consequence asset whose failure is regional. Your security program should reflect that, and mostly it reflects your budget cycle instead.
Where the Model Breaks
The waterside is the assumed gap. Intake structures, cooling water infrastructure, and berth faces are physically approachable from the water and effectively unwatched below the surface. It is the vector every tabletop identifies and almost no facility instruments.
Airspace arrived without a program. Overflight of switchyards, tank farms, and control buildings is now routine. With no detection there is no record, with no record there is no pattern, and with no pattern there is nothing a federal partner can act on.
The fenceline is measured in miles across bad terrain. Industrial ground, tidal margins, rail spurs, and vacant parcels defeat the economics of fixed camera coverage. What remains is a patrol on a schedule an observer learns in two nights.
Turnarounds invert your control posture. During an outage the contractor population multiplies, temporary access proliferates, and the period of maximum physical exposure coincides with the period of maximum operational distraction.
Three consoles, three vendors, zero correlation. Your fence and CCTV integrator, your marine services provider, and whoever you have on air — if anyone — do not share a data model. The operator is the integration layer, at 3 AM, alone.
The Structural Problem
Most facilities in your class do not under-sense. They over-sense and under-correlate. Adding another detection vendor makes the operator’s night worse, not better. The missing layer is the one that reasons across domains and produces a single decision.
See Everything. Miss Nothing. Respond.
NXT SensorHub — see everything: The ownership-agnostic connection layer. Ingests existing CCTV, fence detection, access control, and process-adjacent systems alongside NXT and partner sensors across all three domains. You keep your installed base and your vendor options.
Nexie — miss nothing: The AI Operator. Holds a subsurface contact, a surface track, an airspace contact, and a fenceline detection against each other, determines whether they are one event, and presents a characterized incident with the record already open.
NXTGuard Land-Sea-Air — respond: NXTFusion OS™ ground assets on the fenceline and yard; maritime surface and subsurface sensing through NXT’s hardware partners; airspace detection through the Drone Informer program. Delivered as a service, not a capital program.
Governance, Stated Up Front
AI Assist: Nexie detects, classifies, and prioritizes, then drafts the incident record with the evidence attached. Your operator decides.
AI Orchestration: Nexie sequences the response — repositions the asset, cues the nearest camera, dispatches the responder, opens and time-stamps the log.
Red lines: No autonomous use of force. No autonomous contact with a person. No identity determination absent written policy and counsel review.
One Evolution, Three Domains
02:40 · Subsurface: Contact near the intake structure. In a conventional facility this is not detected at all — not missed, not detected. There is no sensor for it to have missed.
02:52 · Surface: Small craft loitering off the berth face outside the normal traffic pattern. On its own, unremarkable. Nexie holds it against the subsurface contact.
03:05 · Air: Airspace contact transits the switchyard from over water. Tracked and logged whether or not anyone is watching a screen.
03:14 · Land: Fenceline detection at the switchyard perimeter. In your current system this is the first alarm anyone sees — and it arrives with no context whatsoever.
03:14 · Decision: One correlated incident across four sensing domains, not four unrelated alarms across three consoles. Ground asset repositioned, cameras cued, duty officer and control room notified, record opened.
Why Correlation Is the Product
Any one of those four detections, alone, gets dismissed on a busy night — and should be. It is the relationship between them that carries the meaning, and relationship is exactly what a console-per-vendor architecture destroys. Nexie is not a better sensor. Nexie is the thing that was never there.
Where This Already Runs
USCG Alameda: Persistent autonomous patrol in an active Coast Guard operating environment — the nearest precedent to a maritime-adjacent federal footprint.
Port of San Diego & USCG: Land, sea, and air operating as one picture in an active port environment.
Alameda Housing Authority: Sustained overnight patrol economics across a large distributed property — the dark-hours cost model that makes miles of fenceline affordable.
San Diego Int’l Airport employee lot: Access-controlled, credentialed-population monitoring under federal-adjacent regulatory scrutiny.
What a Phased Deployment Looks Like
Phase 1: Landside first, 60 days. Ground assets on the worst-covered fenceline segment plus airspace detection. Baseline instrumented, not asserted.
Phase 2: Waterside added. Surface and subsurface sensing through partner hardware. NXT SensorHub connected to existing CCTV and access control. Nexie correlating all domains.
Phase 3: Regulatory integration. Incident and drill records generated to your regulator’s format. Patrol posture rebuilt around correlated risk rather than schedule.
Honest Competitive Position
Plainly, because you will hear it from someone eventually: genuine land-sea-air with real orchestration exists today, and it is Anduril Lattice. It is very good, built for the Department of Defense, and sold to program offices at defense-prime price points on vehicles a utility or terminal operator cannot practically use.
What NXT delivers that others do not: land-sea-air coverage as a commercial service trailer, with an operator-grade assist and orchestration console, at critical-infrastructure price points. Everything else in the commercial market is land-only and alert-only, or air-only.
Risks and the Counterargument
Counterargument: “We are regulated on the electrical side, not the waterside.” True on paper. It is still the approach path to the asset your regulator does care about, and after an event nobody finds that distinction persuasive.
Partner integration risk: Maritime surface and subsurface sensing come through NXT hardware partners. Integration maturity varies by configuration and is validated in Phase 1, not assumed.
Jurisdictional risk: Counter-UAS authority is federal and constrained. NXT detects, tracks, and records. Mitigation is a law-enforcement and federal-partner function and is an explicit Red Line for us.
Procurement risk: If this lands as a capital project it enters a multi-year cycle and dies. The service model exists so it sits in operating budget alongside the guard contract.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do we have to replace our existing CCTV and fence detection?
No. NXT SensorHub ingests existing CCTV, fence detection, access control, and process-adjacent systems alongside NXT and partner sensors. You keep your installed base and your vendor options.
How is waterside sensing delivered?
Maritime surface and subsurface sensing come through NXT hardware partners. Integration maturity varies by configuration and is validated in Phase 1, not assumed.
Does NXT take down drones?
No. Counter-UAS authority is federal and constrained. NXT detects, tracks, and records. Mitigation is a law-enforcement and federal-partner function and is an explicit Red Line for us.
What does a first deployment look like?
Phase 1 is landside first, 60 days: ground assets on the worst-covered fenceline segment plus airspace detection, with the baseline instrumented, not asserted.
